Human Subjects Training

1.  Access PHIRST at:  https://phirst.jhsph.edu/

2. Use your JHED ID/JHED password to log in and register in PHIRST

3. For non-JHU affiliates, use the following guides to help create a guest user account in PHIRST and add the BSPH as an affiliated institution:  Creating a Guest Account: , Affiliating an Institution in CITI

4. Adding team members to the study: See page 8 of the PHIRST User Guide

5. Access CITI through the IRB Webpage: BSPH CITI Training

•  Complete the required human research ethics in CITI and if applicable HIPAA and GCP training: Training | Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health

• Use the ‘First Steps’ guide: to register in PHIRST, obtain a user role, and upload your human subjects training certificates and completion date to your PHIRST profile page.

• The Field Guides below provide the basic information data collectors require and are intended for in-person training when hiring local people to collect data for their research:
