Setting Up Subawards
Adding a Subaward to a grant application requires a longer timeline. A principal investigator should start and finalize a subaward at least two weeks before the due date of the application. Each consortium grantee organization that performs a substantive portion of the project must complete an R&R Subaward Budget Attachment, including the Budget Justification section.
There are several items needed to submit a subaward with a grant application. The first is to determine if a collaborator is a subrecipient or contractor by completing the Subaward Determination Form.
