Adding a Subaward to a grant application requires a longer timeline. A principal investigator should start and finalize a subaward at least two weeks before the due date of the application. Each consortium grantee organization that performs a substantive portion of the project must complete an R&R Subaward Budget Attachment, including the Budget Justification section.
There are several items needed to submit a subaward with a grant application. The first is to determine if a collaborator is a subrecipient or contractor by completing the Subaward Determination Form.
How To: | You will need to provide the subaward institution the following information: Program Announcement being used Title of the application Budget start date and how many grant years Due date for all materials listed below. It is recommended to require at least 10 business days
Items required of the subaward Institution UEI#, Congressional District, Full contact information (name, address with 9 digit zip code, phone #, and email). This is the performance site info Full contact information for all Key Personnel (name, address with 9 digit zip code, phone #, and email) 5 page biographical sketch for all Key Personnel Scope of Work (outlining contribution/services to the project). This can be a simple paragraph describing the work. Budget (this can be Excel or the RR form). You can offer to transfer the budget to the RR form Budget justification (Word version). Ask for Word in case minor edits are needed Facilities & Resources page pertaining to this project Current F&A Rate Agreement Letter of Intent (signed by your institutions authorizing official. Can use the LOI in Resources below or the institution can use their own template as long as the elements are captured)
