Public Health IRB Submissions using PHIRST

What is “PHIRST”?: Electronic submission system for all BSPH IRB applications.
How does it work?: Answer the PHIRST application questions and upload forms from BSPH IRB website.
How do I get help?: Consult the PHIRST User Guide and PHIRST FAQs as if needed; email bsph.phirsthelp@jhu.edu.
Who can submit?: Only the Principal Investigator (PI) may submit applications.
What are the BSPH IRB requirements for human subjects research?: See Guidance and JHSPH IRB Policies.

How To:	Access PHIRST at: https://phirst.jhsph.edu/ Use your JHED ID/JHED password to log in and register in PHIRST. For non-JHU affiliates, use the following guides to help create a guest user account in PHIRST and add the BSPH as an affiliated institution: Creating a Guest Account, Affiliating an Institution in CITI For further help, contact the PHIRST Help Desk at BSPH.PHIRSTHelp@jhu.edu to request a guest user account.

FAQ’s	Who can create a new application? Anyone with a PI/co-investigator/student investigator role may create the application but only the PI may submit it to the IRB.
