SMILE is an initiative by JHU to offer paid campus internships and employment opportunities to students across all the campuses of the university. Faculties can recruit the best-fit candidates by simply posting the job requirement on SMILE with detailed roles and responsibilities, joining date, duration, and other details.

Below is the step-by-step detail of how to do so:

How to:

  1. Log on to the SMILE Portal using your JHED ID:

2. Once you are logged in, select the option ‘Post New Position’ and start filling the ‘Position Request Form'. Specify if the position is only for graduate/undergraduate students or both, if citizenship is a must, and so on. Additionally, select all the eligible campus locations.

3. The next steps include adding basic details such as required skillset, duration of the work, and if it is a Paid campus internship or a student job. If you add it as an internship, students have the liberty to reflect the same in their resumes.

4. Once the basics are done, you can further add granular-level details such as supervisor and position information, in-depth description of the role offered, and more. This brings you to the end of the process. Wait for students to apply, and you can filter relevant candidates for future interviews.

Contacts:

The best contacts are within your department. Your department administrator can assist with the entire process from start to finish.
