PHIRST is the online research submission and review system for BSPH IRB applications. It is a web-based system used by the BSPH IRB as a portal for all new human subjects research applications. Investigators must answer the questions in the PHIRST application and upload research plans, consent forms, and other required study documentation available on the Forms page of the BSPH IRB website. Only the Principal Investigator may submit applications in PHIRST. The PHIRST User Guide and PHIRST FAQs are available to help navigate the system. IRB requirements for conducting human subjects research is outlined in the Guidance and JHSPH IRB Policies; which govern the review of all submissions.
