The National Institutes of Health has implemented a new Data Management and Sharing Policy with additional requirements for grants submitted on or after January 25, 2023.  For almost all NIH proposals (except for training grants and fellowships), applications will need to include a Data Management and Sharing Plan (DMSP). This policy applies to all research that generates scientific data and is NOT limited to data derived from human participants. The University has assembled resources to support investigators in responding to these new requirements. Sheridan Libraries also is willing to provide input and guidance on your DMSPs.

The BSPH Biostatics Center, JHU Data Services, and Welch Medical Library are here to help with any questions you may have about this process.

📎Templates for Data Management and Sharing Plan

The DMP tool provides a list of public DMP’s created using the service. Note that many of them predate the NIH requirement although the template looks similar.
