Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health Faculty Mentoring Plan | In 1998, the JHSPH established a centrally administered, voluntary program designed to match assistant professors and newly hired associate professors with faculty members either internal or external to their home department with the goal of providing career and/or scientific guidance.

Provost’s Award for Excellence in Faculty Mentoring | Johns Hopkins University has established the Provost’s Award for Excellence in Faculty Mentoring to recognize the considerable amount of time, effort, and skills required for effective faculty mentoring. Nominations from faculty members, including self-nominations are accepted annually beginning March 1. Required materials must be submitted to facultyaffairs@jhu.edu by 5 p.m. on March 31. National Center for Faculty Development and Diversity (NCFDD) | Johns Hopkins University is an institutional member of the National Center for Faculty Development and Diversity (NCFDD). The independent center provides professional development, training, and mentorship opportunities. As an institutional member, graduate students, post-doctoral associates, and faculty members from all ranks can enroll in a free individual membership to get access to the center’s online resources. All faculty members at Johns Hopkins are able to sign-up for an account to access the center’s online resources, including: webinars, multi-week courses, discussion forums, accountability matches, and career center, among others. The Dean’s Award for Distinction in Faculty Mentoring | The Dean’s Award for Distinction in Faculty Mentoring recognizes a sustained commitment to excellence in fostering the scientific, academic, and/or career development success of fellow faculty members in the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health. Eligible faculty include current Bloomberg School Associate Professors, Associate Scientists, Professors, and Senior Scientists.
